Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 19, 2026
Quantum Protection Security Services LLC ("Selin", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Selin platform, including our website, mobile application, API, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
- Conversation data: Messages you send to Selin and the responses generated.
- Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: Any messages you send to our support team.
- Age verification status: If you use Connect, whether you passed the 18+ check and when. The document and selfie behind that check are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach us — see section 5.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: Features used, pages visited, session duration, and interaction patterns.
- Device data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
- Log data: Server logs including timestamps, request paths, and error events.
- Crash and diagnostic reports: If the Selin mobile app crashes or hits an unexpected error, technical details about that event — device model, OS version, and a stack trace of the code path that failed — are sent to our crash-reporting provider. See Section 6.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Selin Services
- Process transactions and send related information including confirmations and invoices
- Personalize your experience and remember your preferences
- Send administrative information including changes to our terms and policies
- Respond to your comments and questions and provide customer service
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Services
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Conversation Data
We do not use your conversations to train AI models. Not to train our own models, and we do not hand your conversation content to any third party for training. Selin has no pipeline that collects conversation content into a training dataset.
Your conversations are stored so that Selin has history and memory, and so you can search and revisit them. We do not sell your conversation data. We review aggregated, anonymised operational data — error rates, response times, feature usage counts — to keep the Services running and decide what to build; that never involves reusing the content of your conversations to train a model.
If this ever changes, we will say so here before it takes effect, and any use of conversation content for training would be opt-in.
You may delete your conversation history at any time from within the Selin interface. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
4. Third-Party AI Processing
Selin runs on third-party AI models, and which provider processes a given message depends on the tier you chose for that conversation. When you send a message, its content is transmitted to that provider's API in order to generate a response, and is therefore also subject to that provider's own data-handling terms, which we do not control.
As of the date above, Selin Core and Selin Ultra are served by Claude, developed by Anthropic, PBC, and Selin Spark is served by DeepSeek. We are progressively moving tiers onto our own open-weight models, so this mix changes over time — the models section of our homepage always shows which model powers each tier today, and you choose your tier for every conversation. Their policies: Anthropic's Privacy Policy and Usage Policy, or DeepSeek's Privacy Policy.
We do not share your name, email address, or account details with Anthropic — only the message content required to generate a response is transmitted. We recommend you do not include sensitive personal information (such as passwords, financial account numbers, or government IDs) in your conversations with Selin.
5. Age Verification for Connect
Selin Connect is restricted to adults aged 18 and over. To use it, you must complete an identity check that confirms your age. This is the one part of Selin that asks for a government-issued document, so it is worth describing precisely.
The check is performed by Stripe Identity. When you begin verification, we send you to a page hosted by Stripe, where you photograph a government-issued ID and take a live selfie so it can be matched against the document. That capture happens on Stripe's systems, not ours. Selin has no access to your camera during the check, and the document image and selfie are never transmitted to us or stored on our servers. Stripe's handling of that data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
What we receive is the outcome. We read the verified date of birth once, only to compare it against the 18-year threshold, and we do not record it. The only thing kept on your account is whether you passed and when — a yes-or-no flag and a timestamp. We do not retain your date of birth, your document number, your address, or any image.
Verification is required only for Connect. If you do not use Connect, you are never asked for it, and declining it does not affect the rest of the Services.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, and AI model providers). These parties are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Crash reporting: The Selin mobile app uses Sentry to report crashes and unexpected errors so we can fix them. Sentry receives device model, OS version, and a stack trace of the failing code — not your name, email, or conversation content.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process.
- Protection of rights: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of our users or others.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed password storage (bcrypt), and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Services. You can delete your account yourself at any time — see Delete your account for how, what is removed, and the narrow categories we are required to keep. If you cannot sign in, contact us at denderle@selin-ai.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
Deletion removes your data from our live systems. Encrypted backups age out on their own schedule — daily snapshots are kept for 6 days, weekly for one month and monthly for three months, alongside a rolling point-in-time recovery window of roughly four weeks — so a deleted account may persist in a backup for up to three months before the last snapshot containing it expires. Backups are used only for disaster recovery, never to restore a deleted account.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at denderle@selin-ai.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, and we respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
EEA / UK (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services), consent (where required, e.g. optional features), and legal obligation. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where data is transferred outside the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. To submit a request, contact us at denderle@selin-ai.com.
10. Cookies
Selin uses session cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication state and preferences. These are necessary for the Services to function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
11. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Selin Connect is held to a higher bar: it is restricted to adults aged 18 and over, and access is granted only after the identity check described in section 5. That check verifies age against a government-issued document rather than asking you to state it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
